This started life as a very proper vintage Nina Piccalino dress and is now basically unrecognizable. I separated and shortened it into a tiny cropped top and matching mini skirt, keeping the little daisy trim and bow that suddenly feel completely different at this length. The pale buttercup yellow and soft drape make the finished set feel like something you’d find at Reformation rather than an old church dress.
Wear the pieces together with barely-there sandals or a kitten heel, or break them up. The top is great with vintage denim or white trousers, while the mini works with a simple white tee, oversized button-down or little cardigan.
